Only One

We do a lot of things over and over in our lives.

We move.

We change schools.

We change jobs.

We make friends.

We fall in love.

But there’s only one thing we do once:

Give our heart away.

Sure, we care for many people.

We can even love them.

But only one gets your entire heart.

Only one makes you weak at the knees.

Only one makes you sigh in shuddering breath.

Only one makes your eyes do what they do when you see them.

Only one is the kiss every other kiss is measured by.

Only one makes you smile that smile when you see them.

Only one makes you giddy.

Only one sets you on fire.

For those of you who have that… isn’t it grand?

For those of you who STILL have that after years together… I hate you right now! LOL

For those of us who had it and lost it… in another life, maybe.
