So If You're Listening God...
When I first read the MRI and CT scan results, I freaked out.
Not gonna lie.
I cried.
But what I liked most about reading those results
was admitting to myself that I still want to live.
I’ll accept whatever God wants to do with my life.
There’s no question about that.
But Bessy wants more time.
Time to watch sunsets.
Time to splash around in the water.
Time to laugh with the people I love.
Time to wander.
Time to sit with a bucket of popcorn and a large diet in a darkened movie theater.
I don’t need anything grandiose.
I just want to experience the little things.
Like when my kids were little.
They would take their Little Tikes Flintstone car.
Two would climb in the car, and one would climb on the roof and hang on for dear life.
I would sit on the patio and just listen
as they used their little bare feet to gain speed.
I would brace for what came next,
shutting my eyes hard.
There would be a loud crash, followed by an explosion of hysterical laughter.
It was the best sound!
They did this over and over.
I would laugh so hard my stomach hurt!
And that’s what life is, right?
Those moments…
Those ordinary moments that end up being the most important.
So if you’re listening, God…
